CloudStratex Virtual Challenger Event
You may have seen that we recently launched our charity partnership with Centrepoint, a youth homelessness charity. The charity has been supporting young people experiencing homelessness for over 50 years, through providing housing, physical and mental health support, and education. This is an initiative driven by the Talent Academy and we are pleased to see it come to life after several months of planning. Many of those helped by Centrepoint are the same age as our very own Talent Academy members. This hit home with us and is one of the reasons we are keen to help as much as we can.
We have several objectives that we want to fulfil over the year, including reaching a fundraising target of £10,000 and enhancing team engagement with our company which is trying to do good by others. One of the ways we wanted to do this was by organising a big charity fundraiser. COVID-19 has made this slightly challenging to organise (to say the least!) however we are pleased to launch the CloudStratex Virtual Challenger Event.
From 26th October to 1st November, CloudStratex are setting out to cycle, run and walk the distance from our office in London to Athens, 2400km, to raise money for Centrepoint. All individual members of the team will be recording their distances on Strava so while the pandemic keeps us apart, you will be able to see the team effort.
By undertaking this challenge, we hope to bring CloudStratex together while raising money to help fund key services at Centrepoint. The charity has lost significant funding and volunteering sources as a direct result of COVID-19 while also experiencing a huge increase for demand in their services, so they need more support now than ever. Did you know that:
- £50 could cover the cost of one key worker session
- £75 could help provide essential food supplies for one young person for 5 weeks
- £200 could pay for the purchase and installation of a new washing machine in the young person’s new home
- £1000 from 6 committed supporters could pay for a year of training courses for 10 young people, giving them vital life skills
We want to play our part in helping young people get back on their feet and ensure that their experience of homelessness does not stop them from achieving their potential. We would like as many people to get involved in the challenger event as possible, either by taking on the physical challenge, donating and supporting us, or spreading the word. Please visit our team JustGiving page for more information and to see our progress.
Thank you for your support!
